Max Malave, LLPC
Practicing in Grandville
Max practices from a client-centered therapy approach as he believes in genuineness, showing respect to all clients as humans with their own free will assuming that they are doing the best that they can, as well as being empathic and compassionate. With his approach, Max is also eclectic in incorporating techniques from other approaches which include but are not limited to: Solution-Focused, Dialectical Behavioral, Cognitive Behavioral, Adlerian, and Mindfulness. Max believes that trust, rapport, and safety are imperative to the therapeutic relationship and wants to meet with all clients where they are at on their life journey. He believes through therapy there can hopefully be moments to help clients find their best and healthiest decision for themself, in which he hopes that they can continue to find the best ways to make any life decisions after the counseling experience.
Max is a Limited Licensed Masters Level Counselor who graduated from the University of the Cumberlands with a 4.0 GPA. Throughout his years he has worked as a Mental Health Technician and has worked his way up to providing therapy as a counselor for the following populations: individuals seeking detox/rehab services for drug/alcohol addictions, adolescents and young adults, geriatric and acute care clients, and clients experiencing mild to severe symptoms and mental health diagnoses.
Max has had a growing passion to work with adolescents and young adults as he wants to provide the therapy and be that person he wishes he could have had growing up. Max is also part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and strives to make an inclusive environment for all clients that he sees. Max strives to make a warm and inviting atmosphere, and he wants to make sure that the therapeutic environment can foster a safe and open place to be able to discuss any matters that are important to his clients. Max also hopes to provide a trusting and nonjudgmental environment to challenge and also work alongside his clients to see the growth and progress that you may be seeking.
