Practicing in Cascade

Katheryn Karas

Nothing is set in stone, but it can become set in motion—repeated often enough that it starts to feel fixed. Over time, experiences, relationships, roles, and expectations can shape the way we think, respond, and relate to ourselves. What once developed as a way of coping or adapting can gradually turn into patterns that feel automatic, even when they no longer fit the life we’re trying to live.

I work with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, women’s issues, ADHD, and body image/eating disorders. I also work with individuals who are exploring boundaries, recovering from unhealthy relationship dynamics, or seeking a deeper understanding of themselves. As your therapist, my goal is to meet you where you are while helping you notice patterns in how you think, respond, and relate that may no longer fit where you’re trying to go. I draw from trauma-informed, person-centered, strengthsbased, emotionally-focused, and narrative approaches, adapting my work to what is most useful to you in a collaborative way.

My work is grounded in trauma and neurodiversity-informed care, with attention to how individual experiences are shaped within relational and social contexts. In our work together, you can expect a space that is safe enough to be open, supportive enough to experiment with something different, and honest enough that change can actually take place rather than just be talked about.
