Practicing in Grandville

Julia Burgoon

Life does not always give us the opportunity to slow down and process all of the experiences that it throws at us. Oftentimes, it feels impossible to move forward when we feel paralyzed by our thoughts and feelings. I’m here to help foster a safe space in order for you to heal and grow as an individual. My specialties include depression, anxiety and stress, interpersonal and/or relationship challenges, generational trauma, PTSD, neurodiversity, and transationally adopted individuals. As a neurodivergent therapist, I am passionate about working with individuals who have been diagnosed with ADHD and/or ASD.

As your therapist, my goal is to meet you where you’re at. Depending on your specific needs, I utilize several treatment models, including client-centered therapy, emotionally-focused therapy, narrative therapy, strengths-based approaches. I always operate my practice from a trauma-informed perspective as well as a neurodiverse-informed approach.

My practice is rooted in social justice and intersectionality. Many of us have experienced disparities and inequities that are traumatizing without a safe space to unpack it all and truly process what happened. It is important to me that you feel seen, heard and validated. My goal as your therapist is to guide you on your journey of self-liberation and help.
