Joe Paul, LMSW

Master’s Level Clinical Social Worker

Joe Paul is a Licensed Masters Level Clinical Social Worker in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He works with adult men and women, as well as children and adolescents within the family system. Joe obtained both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Eastern Michigan University. Joe has been practicing social work since 2012. He has had the opportunity to collaborate with individuals experiencing a variety of life challenges including grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal conflict, and struggles with caregiver attachment.

“Life can present challenges that are unexpected and often unwarranted. It is my passion to collaborate with individuals and families that are experiencing emotions and or environmental stress that can feel unmanageable and or unbearable,” Joe says. “Therapy provides an opportunity to learn skills to assist in managing these emotions. It can also provide a safe place to turn pain into meaning and purpose.”

Joe utilizes a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach specializing in Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, and Attachment Theory skills. Joe believes the key ingredient to navigating the therapeutic process is to build a safe, and trusting, therapeutic relationship. He finds it a privilege to work with individuals, couples, and families of all backgrounds.
