Heath Hofstra is a Licensed Masters Level Clinical Social Worker, and he works with adults and adolescence of all backgrounds. He completed his master’s in social work at Grand Valley State University and has been practicing clinical social work since 2019. Heath has also received extensive training prior to his clinical experience working in both correctional settings and residential youth homes. Heath has provided individual therapy in both outpatient and inpatient settings, and he has worked alongside individuals experiencing a variety of mental health concerns.
Heath has a passion for working with individuals struggling with addiction, anxiety, trauma, and depression. Heath uses a trauma-informed and person-centered approach while working with his clients, and he also utilizes components of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and motivational interviewing. Heath believes that practicing mindfulness, setting realistic goals, understanding mind/body connection, and making incremental changes can help relieve the distress we feel.
