Hannah Nelson, LMSW

Sometimes in life you don’t feel heard or understood. At those times, nothing feels safe and you feel alone. When you are going through a difficult time in your life it can feel overwhelming and isolating. Hannah believes her role in therapy is that of a helper, to be with you in your journey, whether that be finding your own voice, healing past wounds, or working through trauma. Through building a relationship based on compassion, empathy, and respect, you discover the tools needed for growth and change, the resilience and strength that you always possessed.

Hannah has years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families who are struggling with trauma, intense emotions, grief/loss, adjustment, stress, depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, identity concerns, and substance use. She looks to equip each individual with healthy coping skills that can maximize their full potential. Hannah is a trauma informed therapist and has worked alongside many individuals to process and work through many difficult things that life brings.

Hannah believes that trust is essential in a therapeutic relationship, and will work to provide a place where you truly feel heard and valued. She believes it is important to incorporate into therapy all aspects of who you are: your feelings, your thoughts, and how you interact with those around you. Seeking therapy is not a sign of weakness. It takes courage to reveal the core of who you are to another person, to allow someone else to fully see you. Hannah would be honored to hear your life story and work together with you to create harmony and personal growth.
