Practicing in Grandville

Jessica Cheslek
Limited Licensed Counselor

I am passionate about sitting with others and uncovering their unique stories, strengths, and life concerns. With a background in Public and Nonprofit Administration from Grand Valley State University and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Cornerstone University, I bring a strong foundation in both human services and clinical care. My experience includes a variety of settings, including time in equine-assisted environments, which deeply shaped my understanding of connection and presence in healing. I especially enjoy working with teens and adults who are navigating life transitions, relational challenges, stress, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of themselves. I believe in the importance of creating a space where people feel seen, heard, and safe to explore what it means to be human. As Fred Rogers once said, “Anything human is mentionable, and anything mentionable can be more manageable.” I strive to be someone who helps others feel less alone in whatever they are carrying. If desired, I I am also happy to incorporate a Christian perspective into our work together.

When we begin working together, I’ll take time to get to know you—your story, your concerns, and your hopes for the future. Together, we’ll create meaningful goals and move toward them at a pace that feels right for you. I view counseling as a collaborative process, offering encouragement, insight, and practical tools to help you navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and clarity. I welcome individuals from all walks of life and am committed to creating an inclusive, and safe space for people of all backgrounds, identities, and beliefs. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our families, friends, and our two cats, Mister and Captain. I also love traveling, playing games, cooking, baking, reading, and staying active through hiking, biking, and swimming.
