Until we feel physically, emotionally, and psychologically safe, real, lasting change is difficult to come by. I believe each of us is doing the best we can with the tools we found. When faced with difficult times, our personal toolkit may no longer feel like enough to navigate our current challenges (prompting us to seek help). We need a caring, validating teammate as we move through any stressful or painful period.

My approach to therapy centers on building a collaborative, honest relationship where we show up genuinely as ourselves in the room. To me, there is nothing more important than the therapeutic relationship, which means I value the input of my clients, where they want to focus, and how we can work together to get you where you want to be. As a clinician and person, I consider myself to be playful, genuine, and active in the room.

I pull from a variety of theoretical orientations including interpersonal process therapies and acceptance and commitment theory. Together, we will examine the past, the here and now, as well as larger systemic forces to develop increased self-compassion, insight, and flexibility. I am immensely grateful for the work I get to do and consider it a gift to walk alongside you (for however long you may need).

I completed both my Master’s Degree in Counseling and PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I am a Doctoral Temporary Limited License Psychologist (D-TLLP). Much of my training has been spent working with adults across the lifespan in community mental health, university counseling centers, and testing & assessment for learning difficulties. I have also enjoyed performing research centered on family dynamics, financial stress, and first-generation college students.
