Practicing in Grandville
I believe in the healing power of processing through our experiences and emotions without judgment in a safe environment. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with the help of other techniques such as grounding and mindfulness, we’ll work through your experiences and challenge those negative thoughts, honor your emotions and rework behaviors.
Trauma — rather, the healing of trauma — is my calling and passion. I’m grateful to have had opportunities to travel around the world to provide trauma education and counseling following disasters or other traumatic experiences. This includes Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria; Paradise, Calif., after the forest fires of 2018; a Navajo Reservation in Chinle, Ariz.; Siem Reap, Cambodia, training teachers at an orphanage; Shire, Ethiopia, working at an Eritrean refugee camp; and several areas in Madagascar, providing comfort and hope in the face of extreme poverty.
I joined GRTG for the journey. While I’ve had the privilege of interacting with many individuals, seeing intimate snippets of troubling circumstances within their lives, I am eager to walk alongside my clients in their journey of healing, rather than simply providing recommendations/referrals. I count it my honor and privilege to work with each individual who walks through my door.
When I’m not busy in the office, I enjoy spending time with friends, talking to my family on the phone and playing with my beautiful black kitten, Kai, who is almost 3 years old. I also enjoy art, music and poetry — finding any and every creative outlet. When all else fails, you’ll find me cuddled up with my kitten and a good book or Netflix series.
