Sara Najar
Practicing in Cascade
(she/her), Psychologist in Training
As the final step toward completing a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University, Sara is working as a master’s level intern with Grand Rapids Therapy Group.
Sara practices from an interpersonal-process theoretical orientation while incorporating psychodynamic techniques. Sara has experience working with LGBTQ+ clients as well as those with depression and anxiety.
She believes that building a therapeutic alliance between client and counselor is key to meaningful outcomes.
“Through this collaborative experience, clients have an opportunity to find new ways of being and relating to others. Therapy provides a safe space to process experiences and/or parts of ourselves that may be uncomfortable and painful to address. My goal is to walk alongside you in your healing journey to be there to support, gently challenge, and hold space to explore whatever is most important for you.”
Sara is currently working with both individual adults as well as couples and her sessions are billed on an income-based sliding scale.
“I am so excited to be part of the GRTG clinical team! I feel comfortable being myself here and I hope to create that same safe environment in my office. I would be honored to work with any potential client who is considering counseling.”
