Todd Monroe, LMSW
Practicing in Grandville
Todd Monroe is a clinically trained Psychotherapist, practicing in Grandville, MI and via telehealth. His public service career began in 1992 and has taken him through a myriad of opportunities to help individuals and relationships find fresh ways to heal. From family case work to Psychiatric Inpatient Supervisor, he has developed a practice that largely focuses on the person or relationship in crisis and transition. Todd implements a Psychotherapy which reaches into Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Marital Intensive (MIT) Therapy and Psycho-Dynamic approaches; all within a person-centered approach.
Mr. Monroe began his community service career in 1992, serving in several capacities before dedicating his career ambitions to relational and mental health treatment, upon graduation from Grand Valley State University (Masters of Social Work) in 2006. “I find the process of healing to be a sacred space where the profound can happen.” Patients have been highly satisfied with Todd’s ability to provide warmth and connection, while challenging individuals to grow. He has also enjoyed public speaking and teaching engagements and Master’s level clinician supervision.
As areas of significant clinical hours and expertise, Todd’s competencies are fairly wide. Individuals in crisis, transition or needing to manage their own mental health, constitute a large portion of his caseload. “Understanding healthy relationship dynamics, self care, communication skills and boundaries are all common themes of my practice.” Marriages in crisis, anxiety and depression management, and trauma recovery, past and present are all areas of competency. Todd is accepting patients from 15 years of age, up to senior adults.
Mr. Monroe believes in a healing practice that empowers individuals to imagine new, healthier options for living. He strives to maintain a safe therapeutic environment for a diverse patient population. “We are addressing the deeply rooted barriers prohibiting individuals from embracing the potential that life can bring. “I wish for every patient in my care to recognize their inherent value, and to feel that in the treatment space.”
